Children Create Loving Memories Through Memorial Garden

“We are blessed to have this opportunity to help a classmate and his family.” – St. Elizabeth Principal Gabbie Marguery

“We did what we could to support the family through their ordeal,” said Principal Gabbie Marguery of St. Elizabeth Area Catholic School in Reese.

When one of their own students lost a parent, Amy Bojo’s class wanted to find a lasting way to honor a memory and support their friend. So, they created a living memorial in a garden. The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan contributed $1,000 for the project.

“The kids did all the work themselves, but we would not have been able to afford the plants and an engraved stone and other materials without the support of the Foundation. We are blessed to have this opportunity to help a classmate and his family.”
