Saginaw Area Catholic Schools: Marsha Porath Advised Fund

The Marsha Porath Advised Fund for Saginaw Area Catholic Schools was established in 2015 in honor of Marsha Porath, a wonderful wife and loving mother of three children. Marsha was a devoted Catholic and saw the importance of a religious upbringing for her children. All three of her children attended Saginaw Area Catholic Schools, as Marsha believed in a strong Catholic education. Equally important to her was the need to help the less fortunate in her community and beyond. Helping with brown bag lunches or giving a hand to teachers in the classroom, she always found time to help by lending her talents. Marsha was always getting involved with extracurricular activities at school. She was a person of high moral character and a leader. This scholarship is to honor her memory with someone who has these same qualities. That person should not only be striving to be the best they can be in the classroom, but also someone that is making the world around them a better place by helping the less fortunate. Awards will be made to selected students who can demonstrate financial need and show their passion for contributing to their community. Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher will be preferred as candidates. Additions can be made to the fund and anyone may contribute to it.
