Chris serves as a Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan Board Member and as the Board’s Secretary. He is also the Chair of its Governance Committee, the Chair of its Bylaws Committee, an Executive Committee Member, and a Strategic Planning Committee Member.
Chris has 25 years of experience as an estate planning and real estate development attorney at Shinners & Cook, P.C., a business law firm in Saginaw. He has served on the Boards of Directors of many for-profit and not-for-profit corporations in various officer capacities. Chris is a past President of the Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council, which is an educational organization made up of approximately 175 attorneys, CPAs, Life Insurance Agents, Certified Financial Planners, and Donation Officers – all of whom specialize in estate and charitable planning and who commit to continuing education in those fields. He is also the President of the Saginaw County Bar Association which is made up of 350+ Saginaw attorneys. Prior to joining the Foundation Board, Chris was a Parish Council Member of St. Stephen (now St. Dominic) Parish, in Saginaw.
Chris and his wife, Karen, are the proud parents of Lilly, John and Brenna. Chris is an active member of Trout Unlimited, is a small-game hunter and fisherman, who also enjoys backpacking in remote parts of Canada. Chris has 9 siblings (two foster siblings were his cousins), and loves spending time with friends and family.
