In honor of Saint Gerard Majella, the patron Saint of motherhood, Catholic faithful have come together to form the Saint Gerard Society—a nonprofit organization that provides tuition assistance to deserving children within the Diocese of Saginaw.
- For the 2017-2018 school year, the Saint Gerard Society awarded 43 scholarships, totaling $47,000, to students to attend Saginaw Area Catholic Schools.
- Saint Gerard Society scholarships are available to children of all faiths who want a faith-based education at Catholic schools in the Diocese of Saginaw.
- In 2017, 88 Saint Gerard Society members and contributors raised more than $90,000 for tuition assistance scholarships.
People of the Diocese are invited to make an annual, tax deductible, contribution. Anyone making a $500 gift will become a contributing and voting member of the Saint Gerard Society. All gifts, no matter the amount, will be accepted on behalf of the children. These gifts will form the basis of a fund to immediately assist with tuition costs for students.
